The US Government conducts background investigations on those who are being considered for positions that require access to classified information. Click on the link above to take a look at the application that gets the process rolling.
Check out the Project SCOPE quick quizzes – students can answer and share on social media! While some of these questions are geared towards adult professionals completing the SF-86, others are specifically geared towards high school students and their decision making.
DISA Pathways
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), headquartered at Fort George G. Meade, offers a Pathways Internship Program for students from high school to graduate level. DISA also operates a Pathways Recent Graduate Program for individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs, and seek a dynamic, career development program with training and mentorship.
NSA Work-Study
The National Security Agency (NSA), also headquartered at Fort George G. Meade, offers a range of opportunities for students at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. The NSA operates a High School Work-Study Program, which hires students into paid positions as either office assistants or computer aides. Students receive on-the-job training (sometimes in sophisticated computer equipment) and work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
